Winning a photo contest as a teenager brought Ele Martinez '18 to the notice of Skidmore's Pre-ۿۂýProgram director. She found him the funding to attend the summer program on campus, and soon he was admitted as a regular student. A gifted documentarian of the life and people around him, he earned Skidmore's Megan McAdams-Roldan '08 International Community Service Award to fund a summer visit to his native state in rural Mexico, for a project to give cameras to local children and teach them photography. This fall he has mounted a Skidmore exhibition on the project.
